Influencer Morena Rial was released in the case investigating her for the alleged robbery of a house in the Buenos Aires town of Villa Adelina, but for the moment she will remain in custody. The daughter of journalist Jorge Rial testified before the judge at the Criminal Court number seven in San Isidro and admitted her guilt.
Judicial sources informed the Argentine News Agency that the magistrate imposed a series of "special obligations" that the accused must comply with during the process. Firstly, Rial is absolutely prohibited from leaving the country and must reside at a designated address, without being allowed to be absent for more than 24 hours or change it without prior authorization.
The 26-year-old woman must appear in court every 15 days between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. to testify before the competent authority. Her lawyer, Fernando Burlando, emphasized that in criminal law not everything is a conviction and that the principle of innocence must be respected.
On the other hand, Alan Cañete, accused of obstructing the investigation, appeared and stated that Morena asked him to borrow a car for a move. However, the vehicle appeared on security cameras near the robbed house. Cañete was charged as an accessory to an aggravated robbery and remains in custody.
Nicolás Segovia, the detained person's boyfriend and the owner of the vehicle used in the robbery, is expected to testify at the Prosecutor's Office soon. Cañete must begin psychological and/or psychiatric treatment within 10 days once released, to address possible behavioral disorders. Morena Rial's release will be effective once this ruling becomes final.
